Simulyn ("we", "our", or "us") operates the mock API generator at simulyn.dev. We are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account:

  • Account information: email address, namespace identifier, and password (stored as a secure hash — never in plaintext).
  • Endpoint configuration: JSON schemas, Faker templates, and any settings you define for your mock API endpoints.
  • Usage metadata: request counts and timestamps for your endpoints. We do not store request body content.

We also automatically collect technical data when you use the Service:

  • Log data: IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Device information: operating system and browser version.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Simulyn mock API generator.
  • Authenticate you and maintain your account and namespace.
  • Respond to your support requests and questions sent to hello@simulyn.dev.
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve developer experience.
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties except as described in this policy. We may share information with:

  • Infrastructure providers: Vercel (hosting and edge delivery). These parties process data only as necessary to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Simulyn and its users.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data storage, HTTPS-only transmission, and authentication-gated API access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and mock endpoint data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion by emailing hello@simulyn.dev, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Object to processing of your personal information.
